HostMySite offering free ColdFusion 8 hosting (for testing purposes)

HostMySite is offering free ColdFusion 8 hosting for people who want to play with ColdFusion. This isn't for web site hosting per se, but if you don't want to download or setup ColdFusion 8 locally, or if you want to share some cool demos with others, this is definitely a nice alternative.

This is neat!

I read somewhere that Adobe has special price offers for Hosting companies to make ColdFusion competition. So they can offer ColdFusion package at same price along with php or ASP .NET hosting packages and to avoid price gouging?

I have CF8 beta account with them. I have installed ColdBox framework and it is working flawless. :-)

Can v8 work on the same box as cf7?

Brad, we do indeed work with hosting companies that want to offer ColdFusion hosting, and do indeed make sure that it is competitive for them to do so.

I can't seem to get anything that relies on CFIDE scripts to work there at HMS. cfform / cfinput cftooltip, etc...

I know folks have done it - I saw others talking about it. I don't have the answer, but maybe someone else on this entry will. (So in other words, it IS possible, afaik, I just don' tknow the way to do it.)

Kevin,

Contact HMS support for adding CFIDE mapping for your account. It would work with cfform, etc..
