Target has announced that they will soon be selling life-sized arcade games for less than 500 dollars. Each machine will be 62 inches tall and come with 12 games each. Sample games include Defender, Robotron, Sinistar (drool), but I don't see Galaga in there.
I don't know about you, but I've wanted a "real" arcade game in my house ever since I saw my first episode of Silver Spoons.
And yes - I know I can home brew it and build my own MAME console - but to be honest, I hate dealing with my own hardware.

Holy crap that's cool!!
I saw one of these in Frys a while back, as well as Costco - they were up around the $2000 mark. Yikes.
But under $500?? Sign me up. Hell, if you wanted to build your own Mame machine, the cabinet and monitor would be worth that much alone... i'll be interested to hear how these things get hacked.
bahaha.. check out the web site for the console maker.. http://www.mybiggames.com/ a 655k GIF rotating their logo. Kind of makes me wonder about the quality of their machines.
Oh my, brings back memories - I started drooling after arcade machines ever since that episode of Silver Spoons too. Of course my parents banned me from watching it as I started immitating the kid, but that's a different story. Its almost tempting too....
I think I'm going to get it, any images of it out there?
I was extremely lucky as a young lad in the 80's. My dad owned a video game business and kept a few hundred of them on hand at any given time. Donkey Kong, Joust, Galaga, Defender, Defender 2, you name it, we had it! I mean ALL of em. heeheehee.
Man, I remember the first one he bought was ... yes .... ASTEROID! lol! Sat at that game for hours and hours. Sheeesh.
Ahhhhh ..... those were the good ol' days. :)
