Vinyl Data

This post is more than 2 years old.

This was blogged elsewhere but I just had to share. As we all know, CDs can contain both music and data. What I didn't realize is that vinyl records (you rememer those, don't you?) could also contain a data track. This is discussed in detail here. Simply amazing. I think my favorite example is the game the Thompson Twins put out on vinyl.

That is the wildest thing I've seen in some time. I actually have one of those records (Pete Shelley's 'XL-1'), so now I'm gonna have to go see if I can find this data track. I've never, ever heard of this before. Must have been all the rage in Britain, since the Sinclair was much more popular over there. Thanks for sharing.
