RIAForge Milestone

9

Posted in ColdFusion | Posted on 09-20-2010 | 2,055 views

Nothing big to report... but.... today RIAForge released the 1000th project. If folks are curious, it is SQLDoc by Craig M. Rosenblum. We are also on the way to one million downloads as well. (Currently at 932,754.)

How many of those projects are ColdFusion? 760 of em. How many for ColdFusion Builder? 41. So a bit over 800.

<cf_sarcasm>Don't forget - there are no ColdFusion open source projects.</cf_sarcasm>

I'll have to convert all my <sarcasm> tags to <cf_sarcasm> - I didn't know there was a native CF version :).
I just added my 1st project to riaforge...sqldoc :)
Ray, the way your post is worded, it reads as if there are 700 CF downloads out of 932K+, not 700 CF projects out of 1K. Just thought I should mention it.

Added a quick edit.
@Ben Riordan

<cfsarcasm>
cf_sarcasm would make it a custom tag.... cfsarcasm would be native.

But you should update anyway!

:)

Just submitted a project myself. If approved, you will be able to say "OVER a thousand projects" which sounds ever so slightly more impressive than just "a thousand".
Also I searched but could not find any fart apps, which is a good sign.
Done. :)
If you have any recommendations or suggestions for us 1st time riaforge submitter's, please do so.

Thanks Ray..
Well, do remember that if you decide to use _other_ hosting options, like Github, that RIAForge goes out of it's way to support that. You can link to external downloads, wikis, bug trackers, etc.

Outside of that - your normal OS advice. Be open (have no ego) - try to grow your users and get feedback/help (you won't get much unfortunately) - and release often.
