So this morning I decided to install Adobe Creative Suite 3 Master Collection. I selected a few of the apps as I didn't need everything (Dreamweaver, Flash, Photoshop, Contribute) and hit go. I noticed a few minutes later the installer was hung. I was silently cursing the installer when I noticed my CD wasn't showing up in Finder. Turned out I had started up VMware Fusion and it had stolen the CD device. -sigh- My fault.
So I killed the installer and tried again. After a few minutes my leg accidentally hit the CD tray - which was open - which was news to me. When my leg hit the tray it closed. I figured - no big deal - it must want one of the other CDs. But when I selected the installer, I saw this:

Nice verbose message there. I waited a while and when nothing happened I force quit the application. I ran the installer a third time - ensuring I kept my legs to myself (I can't stop moving when I listen to techno - I'm crazy like that) and this time the exact same problem occurred! I didn't touch the CD tray, but I've got the same nice blank installer message.
Anyone have a recommendation?

Check your add/remove programs list to ensure no installations completed. If you're good on that end, go into Program Files\Adobe\Creative Studio 3\ (or wherever your install directory resides) and dump any folders created during the botched installation. Dump your temp files and reboot. Then attempt the installation again. If you're still having problems you will need to clean up your registry a little in which case hit me up on email and I will send you a quick cleanup script that you can tweak for your botched CS3 installation.

Thank you. I haven't tried this yet - I'm doing so now.
Good luck!
I had a heck of a time getting it installed, but it finally did work. Hope you get it.
So... the install went ok. I noticed though that it told me DW was still installed, even though I had done an uninstall.
No big deal though.
So I wrap things up - I run Photoshop, no problem. I run Dreamweaver, and it asks me for my serial number. I enter my serial, and it's invalid. If I have to uninstall _again_, I'm just going to quit.
Ugh.
I'm... speechless. I just got off the phone and I've been told I have to uninstall and reinstall completely.
Again.
I think I'll just pass. It's not worth it at this point.

I also found this article:

Which recommended a full uninstall. As it would be my 4th, I went with the first article. So far it seems to be working.
I don't think I've ever been this frustrated in my life.
Wow. I hope I never have to live through that again.
