Livedocs gone?

Did I miss something? I went to look at Livedocs today and when I did, was routed to the Help Resource Center. I picked ColdFusion and ended up here: ColdFusion Documentation. This then had a link to Livedocs which led me back to the Help Resource Center.

Are Livedocs gone now?

I noticed this 2 weeks ago. If you do a goodle on coldfusion 7 livedocs it links in to the direct cf 7 docs which are still on there.

I had this URI http://www.adobeauthorizations.com/livedocs/ for livedocs but it's redirected too to Help Resource Center.

But if you wanna the right link is still alive

It seems that only the homepage is gone. Specific sites are still up are linked to from the Help centers.

Probably just some identity-related housekeeping :)

Pressing Ctrl+F1 in Dreamweaver CS3 takes you directly to the CF7 LiveDocs at http://livedocs.adobe.com/coldfusion/7/index.html

Ray, it seems it was a temporary glitch as a result of linking up for CF 8 livedocs(maybe)

update your CF livedocs bookmarks to

The links on your function / tag crib sheets still work OK (for CF7, which is fine for me). So that's something!

I note that changing the URLs you provide from saying "7" to saying "8" does not work :-(

That's a bit crap (on the part of Adobe, I mean; not you)

Well it's SUBSTANTIALLY faster then the CFMX7 docs, so I say "good work" (or is that "about time"?). It's actually a good, usable speed now.

What's - intrinsically - wrong with using frames, btw?

I'm with Adam. There is nothing wrong with frames when used right.

However... guys - do yall see something on the bottom of each page? It looks like a slim, empty box. I see this on every page. I can't click on it. Anyone know what this is?

It is really fast now. Makes it much nicer to use. For me that "slim box" looks more like a scroll bar that is always on.

I see that box too Ray. I also see no way to leave comments ala 'Live Docs'. Maybe this box is for the new way to display the comments that are not on yet???

Oh - I had not realized that. I hope the lack of commenting is only temporary. Those comments were a nice way to mention mistakes/omissions/etc.

Folks, good news. The problem with the comments and that box at the bottom was a temporary glitch that's now resolved. I worked through it with the right person over the past couple of days and didn't want to report the results here until it was solved. It is now, so comment away. :-)

I just blogged about this as well (and the speed, and some more), to share the news more widely. I've been a big fan of the livedocs all along, of course.
