The front page still says 1.4, but the download says 1.5, so grab it. I've talked about the updates before, but now you can download and start using them. I may even update Lighthouse Pro to use JSON tonight.

I have already did but just some modifications on old demos.

Do you know any site online which uses Spry at action realtime?

Spry or 1.5 specifically? The wiki at labs lists sites using it. NBC uses it.

Do you think you'll be doing anything similar to your toXML for JSON? I'd love to be able to just swap out my 2 lines of code converting my "toXML" to a "toJSON" to compare the difference. I'm pretty unfamiliar with JSON so I'm not sure how to go about making my query into JSON and returning it to Spry successfully.

Actually there is a nice JSON CFC already. I use it for - um - I haven't had my coffee yet... but I've been using one by Thomas M something and it works well. Oh yeah - I used it for ColdFire. (You won't see his CFC, I just took his serialize method.)

Hrm, I found that CFC, but I must be doing something wrong. I get a spry error no matter what I try to do with it. I guess I'll wait until you have a working example up :) It also seems that for larger data sets although the size of the returned json is smaller than the xml, CFJSON takes longer to process my query than your toXML does. Thanks!

Hi Ray & Friends.

Check out http://www.tycoon.com/ , just launched yesterday. It is 'sprytastic' - we used effects, validation, xml datasets, json datasets (implemented yesterday when I read your blog), region observers, dataset obeservers, Spry posting (1.4 style).

I will fully upgrade to 1.5 over the next week hopefully.

Feel free to sign up and play the game, some of the videos are brilliantly funny. Unfortunately the prize is only available to UK residents.

You are going to hate me. :)

I used Firebug to track your Spry requests and was able to muck with the URLs:

http://www.tycoon.com/tycoonTrader/index.cfm?fusea...

You need to turn off the show full exception info like _right_ now. You also need ot add some validation to your URLs, and an error handler for the site in general. :)

Oh - one more complaint - please don't auto play video. That makes your site as annoying as the Sys-Con site. ;) (Just kidding - no one can get that annoying.)
