Interesting. So I was about to write this off as a somewhat "light" episode, but the more I think about it, the more I think it was a pretty powerful episode, if more for the subtle things it revealed. But before I go into that, let's cover the facts.

First off - the show focused on the Koreans, Sun and Jin. I'm always happy to see episodes focused on them, but I kind of have a soft spot for Koreans. We find out that Jin was infertile, yet somehow Sun is now pregnant. It was kind of hinted at that she may have cheated on Jin, but it was never outright said/shown that she did.

The other main plot of the show was Ana Lucia (sp?) interrogating Hale. He draws her a map to his balloon, and the last we see of her, Charlie, Sayid is them arriving at the supposed crash landing of the balloon.

Now - this is what I'm thinking. I've talked before about how I think the theme of this season is the breakup of the group. This is demonstrated in the obvious split between Jack and Locke, and Charlie being ostracized from the rest of the group. At the end of today's episode (am I the only one who laughed out loud at the Dharma cereal? I'd kill for a box of that), Ethan once again proves to be a troublemaker, revealing that he drew a map for Ana Lucia and how he has noticed how much Jack and Locke are fighting. He also makes sly humour about how if he were one of the Others, the map he drew would have led Ana to her capture, so that the Others could trade prisoners for him.

I'm really torn. My past theory (the Others were scientists trying to rescue the real "Lost") is really blown I think, now that we know the Others are Dharma actually. Other people have said the maybe this is simple a big experiment. I think this seems like a real possibility, especially with the Others being nothing more than Dharma in disguise. However, in the last episode, a part of me really felt like Ethan thought there was a real virus out there, and that he was really helping Claire. Maybe it's an experiment inside an experiment?

Anyway, as I mentioned, I did create a Lost forum, and you may want to post your comments there. Or here. Either is just fine.

Ethan once again proves to be a troublemaker - I think you got the name wrong in this sentence. ;-)
One thing I noticed during the 'Previously on LOST' segment. When they showed Sun being 'kidnapped', you can clearly see Charlie's bracelet on the left wrist of the 'kidnapper'. Granted, I only noticed it because we know it was Charlie who 'kidnapped' her.
Ah yes, I meant Hale. Sorry about that!
overall a fairly weak episode for me, i think its tough sometimes for EVERY show to live up to some of its predecessors...
Vale - Henry Vale. I believe he is a psychologist. He plays mind games all too well. Of course, if he was able to read minds, he could really play with heads very well couldn't he.

I am personally bothered by the food in the hatch. Desmond's eggs still sit heavy on my mind. I thought Henry's question of "How old is it?" was very pointed and means something.

Lots of hidden meaning in this episode. Oh, regarding Sun's baby. If the Island is about saving the world, do we have our Adam (Aaron) and Eve (Sun's baby) now?
I had an interesting thought.

Michael and Walt must be together (or at the very least, Walt knows where Michael is) because Jack and Locke have been spending a lot of time in The Hatch, yet, Walt has not sent any messages through the computer.
Did anything ever really come across the computer? When Michael was last communicating with Walt and Jack walked in on them there was text all over the screen but when Jack looked at the screen it was blank. Michael never did anything to clear the screen.

Could the messages on the computer have been similar to the hallucinations of Walt that Sayid and Shannon experienced?
Must not read.... Must blank all thoughts of Lost series 2 from my mind!

I've only just finished watching series 1 and I'm not sure when the 2nd series is on in the UK... :|
Dharma-os - they're magically delicious.
so has anyone put together the henry (uncle henry) gale, the man with the hot air ballon from Wizard of Oz, to our Lost Henry Gale?

Old news Tony. ;)
just making sure... had no idea... and was like, WOAH
In the previews for the next episode, we see that Sayid, Ana Lucia, and Charlie do come across a yellow smiley-face balloon in the area of the jungle that they're searching. But if you ask me, that doesn't prove that Gale is an authentic survivor. He could quite easily be an Other just using some other dead sod's balloon as a cover story. The only way for him to really prove that his story is genuine is... umm... uhhh... what does everybody else think? Is there really any way for the survivors to be sure that he's not an Other?
They might let him intentionally escape to find out where he eventually goes?

Of course it would have to be a plausbile escape, so he wouldn't be overly suspicious (if he is infact, is an other).
You mention Jin is infertile.. I thought it was Sun that had the problems?
ah.. nevermind.. I am just watching it now.. doh!
Tony, Oz is also a nickname for Australia.
u know whats funny, Henry Gale is the name of Dorthies uncle in the wizard of oz, in the dream he is the wizard of oz, and dorthie whants to go home, and the wizard takes of in a baloon. It's funny, that all these people are named after some one
opps, sry toney wegg, i didnt read ur comment, atleast i figuerd it out myself
Doesn't it make sense that since Locke's legs were fixed - that Sun's infertility might be reversed as well?
Just FYI
Uncle Henry wasn't the Wizard in the dream. It was the guy who Dorothy met in that traveling wagon, before the storm hit.
