I didnt realise that I had almost used the open source logo icon, strangely enough though I was trying to represent the open source aspect of Canvas. Perhaps a nice coincidence.
In a classic display of non-conformity, I really like #2. It doesn't quite look like anything else that's out there to me. Second preference is the oh-so-popular #1. #3 just doesn't work for me, but I can't put my finger on why.
This is one of the things holding up ( IMO, not expecting others to share it. ) cfeclipse. It's a great product... but I would like to put in a request for optional security. It's nice to live a fantacy that people are good... expec. in the season of Solstice where the festival of lights and tree trimming with gold and silver are a world wide tradition. (No, not saying we all celebrate solstice before someone says it...) Just saying that in the season of peace and goodwill toward men, it would be good to put a layer of protection between the those who aren't seeking goodwill and the rest.
John, I am very aware of this. I am not delaying Canvas 2. I'm looking over the code right now. I just wanted to get peoples opinion on the logo. The only reason Canvas 2 has taken so long is that I only have a certain number of hours per day. ;)
The first one for sure. As already mentioned, the "C" being cut out by a "head and shoulders" shape is cool ;) And I'm partial to that shade of green lately too, hehe...
Can't wait to see Canvas 2. Cheers Ray, and have a Merry Xmas!
So just so folks know - I counted 6 more for #1 than #2, so it wins. I'm going to release Canvas 2 as a beta real soon as I think its good to go. Mark Mazelin did an amazing job with it.
It just stands out stronger.

The third looks like Google updater and the first looks like the claws of the Scorpio logo.
I vote for number 2.
